I arrived in the morning on Friday and hiked the Fløyen Fjell. In the afternoon I enjoyed the city center and a tasty dinner at night. On Saturday I hiked the Ulriken Fjell - when I arrived at the top it turned out that the cabel car was shut down due to heavy wind! So I had to hike all the way down the other side of the mountain. After 3 hours of wandering, following view points in the distance, twisting my knee, sliding down a 3 meter long rock, I got back to civilization and a con creed road, thank God! This is the most expensive place we have ever been. ⬇ Read more about what to do when not rich ⬇ Naturally, this video is about us not trying to blow our budget the minute we step foot on Gardermoen and still having a kind of decent weekend in Oslo. Budgetwise as well as in things-to-see in Oslo, you're gonna be happy with 3, max 4 days as the city is not as big as you might think. There are some things you should definitely check out. Here's the list of most-bang-for-the-buck places to see: * PARLIAMENT * FREE Tour on Saturdays at 10:00 or 11:30 for an inside look at how norway's parliament works. Be some 20 minutes early to be sure you get in, it's 30 people max. No advanced booking possible. http://www.visitoslo.com/en/product/?TLp=183188 * OPERA HOUSE * 10 EUR / $11,50 Tour: Oslo has a great opera house which offers a behind-the-scenes tour of their facility. You can see the tailoring department creating insanely long lasting tailor-made costumes for their plays, check out the backstage areas and huge stage designers' spaces. It is definitely worth it. You can't film in there though. Buy your tickets directly at the counter, stay spontaneous. http://operaen.no/en/Enjoy-more/Omvisning-i-Operahuset/ * HOLMENKOLLEN + NATURE VACAY * You can visit Oslo's legendary ski jump Holmenkollen by taking the metro to the outmost station northwest-bound of Oslo. It is located in a skiing region just 20 minutes outside of the city. In summer as well as on great winter days you can take a walk from the farthest station down to Holmenkollen, which takes about 30 minutes. If you're up for it and not poor yet, you can zipline the ski jump. * LOOK AT PLACES FROM OUTSIDE * FREE. Yes. Walking around the city is free. Do it to stay amazed of how expensive everything is. PS: Take a single fare NSB train from Gardermoen to the city and don't buy a metro pass, you can walk most distances. *********************** Music: Dj Quads: https://soundcloud.com/aka-dj-quads/by-my-side-vlog-music LAKEY INSPIRED: https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired/feeling-good SeizeTheBeat: https://soundcloud.com/seize-the-beat/lemaitre-cut-to-black-1

My new Oslo Travel Guide includes these carefully selected 30 things to do & best places to visit in Oslo, Norway which I visited during a warm summer weekend ranging from gems like the Frogner Park, Viking Ship Museum, Whale Sushi, Stratos rooftop, eating black licorice ice cream and tips for the vibrant Oslo nightlife. I did not have high expectations for Oslo but during this warm summer weekend the city offers many outdoor attractions, a great place to start is Aker Brygge to try the local delicacy Polse, a fancy hot dog rolled in bacon and injected with cheese than from Aker Brygge walk to the other popular attractions like the Royal Palace, Karl Johans Gate shopping street, Vippa, the Opera House or Sorenga Sjobad outdoor beach deck. Download my FREE maps for Oslo: http://www.reformatt.com/30-best-places-oslo-norway Oslo is the capital of Norway and its metropolitan area has a population of 1.5 million including their royal family since Norway is a kingdom and is the only country in the world with territories in both the Arctic and Antarctica. One important thing you must keep in mind; Oslo is extremely expensive and is rated one of the most expensive city in the world by Forbes Magazine, to give you an example, a simple hot dog will set you back $6 US dollars and that is considered on the cheap side. In return for being an expensive city you get a very safe and easy going Scandinavian city experience. Public transit is easy to use and many signs and menus at restaurants are in English. The most bizarre dish I've had must have been the Brown Cheese Ice Cream for which you'll have to watch my Oslo video. The Frogner Park must have been the most unique sculpture park I've ever been to, it is world's largest sculpture park by a single artist. Created by Gustav Vigeland between 1924 and 1943 with incredible sculptures like the angry boy and consist out of 200 works. My favorite museum in Oslo is the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History for having a lot of great performances, historic foods and snacks to try and the overall feeling like you got transported back to the Viking ages. Out of the blue I received a Facebook message from my American buddy Andrew who was coincidentally stopping by Oslo on his way home from the Arctic Norwegian island Svalbard to the United States. I met up with him and his girlfriend at the famous fish restaurant Fiskeriet Youngtorget for the freshest Norwegian salmon I've ever tasted. After lunch I took my friends to the Akershus Fortress for the best view of Oslo and a little historic tour through Norway's Resistance Museum which teaches about the Nazi occupation of Norway during WW2. For dinner I wanted to try true Norwegian cuisine and luckily Rorbua on Aker Brygge is known for having some of the best dishes in town. I ordered the Tastes of Norway meat stick with meats; Whale, Deer, Beef & Reindeer. An incredible dish with as winner: Reindeer for being extremely juicy, this dish cost me around $45 US dollars and don't forget to add the typical Norwegian beer Hansa. Before the night falls, grab a few cocktails at either the Magic Ice Bar for some Norwegian Ice Wine or on top of the Thief Rooftop patio for the most upscale cocktail bar in town. In conclusion, Oslo is a great 2 to 3-day stop over during the summer to enjoy a few outdoor activities, learn about the history of Norway and make many new friends, especially during the weekend nightlife of Oslo but for that you'll have to read my next article. After 3 hours of wandering, following view points in the distance, twisting my knee, sliding down a 3 meter long rock, I got back to civilization and a con creed road, thank God! On my last day, Sunday, I slept in - still sore in my whole body. I decided to have a slow and relaxing day and just wander around the city area. I went to Oslo for the weekend. A couple thousand photos later, this is the result. Filmed in Lillestrom & Oslo, Norway. Shot on my Panasonic LX100 Point and Shoot Animation by: Caitlin Orla Smyth Her Website: http://www.caitlinorlasmyth.com/ Music by Where is My Mind (Piano Cover): https://soundcloud.com/maxencecyrin/where-is-my-mind-the-pixies ________________________________________________________________ Snapchat: gio.brahh Instagram: https://instagram.com/giobrahh/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/giobrahh Email: giobrahh@gmail.com I live in London so if you're ever in town and want to meet up or something just let me know. Please contact me though, I get a lot of people who want to meet up or collaborate and I can't keep up with being the one to reach out to you. Website: https://giovannimontalvo.com ________________________________________________ F.A.Q What camera do you use? Panasonic GH4, although if you like the footage I'm filming I owe it more to the lenses I use, invest in good lenses, not an expensive camera. I recently bought a used Panasonic LX100 point and shoot so I can film on the go easier and film more candid moments. Please don't think that my videos are great because of my camera. The camera you use is only a tool. I could use other cameras and still tell a good story, different cameras enable different possibilities, not a better video or story. The footage does not look like it does in the finished movie straight out of the camera. I go through a process called Color Grading. What lenses do you use? I only use two lenses on my GH4 a Voigtlander 25mm F/0.95, and a SLR Magic 12mm F/1.6 (My camera has a crop factor of 2X so 25mm=50mm etc..) These are all manual focus on my camera, auto focus is never used when making movies you see in the cinema. Also, I don't really like zoom lenses, I like primes that have a look to them. How do you stabilize your footage? I rarely use a tripod. 90% of my shots I stabilize with a Joby Gorillapod SLR Focus, and I love to use my Glidecam How did you get all this equipment? I get paid to make videos for people, I've purchased most of my equipment with my money. I started with just a camera my parents bought me , focused on getting good enough that people wanted to pay me for my work and then purchased better gear. Become good enough at what you want to do that people will want to pay you to do it. (Especially filmmaking, no one pays you for your college film degree, they pay you for your level of work) What do you edit and color grade with? I edit with Adobe Premiere (30% of the time) and Final Cut Pro X (70% of the time). I like both of them but don't want commit ya feel? I use Color Finale within FCP to color grade along with Impulz and Osiris LUTS. I could edit what I edit in iMovie or Premiere or Vegas, it's not the Editing Software, it's the Editor. How long does it take you to edit? Not very long, well most videos I can edit within 4-6 hours, anything more than that and it's mostly minor details and polishing that I just take my time with. Depending on the project it can take days or weeks though. (Editing is my jam) How do you come up with your ideas? Well I have a bunch of ideas written in my Notes app on my phone that just come to me, sometimes I'll just get an idea and I'll be like "yes!" and I'll just execute that idea as soon as I have it, I don't like dwelling on ideas that I can execute with what I have at that moment. How old are you? 19 (Birthday is on July 16, 1997 if I forget to update this) Where did you learn filmmaking? Nowhere, taught it to myself from the internet and practice, lots and lots of practice. No one at all has ever taught me filmmaking. I started filmmaking in April or May of 2015 (can't remember well) if that's any help showing how much practice can help you improve! Do you go to film school? No. I'm going to film school in London in October! Film school can teach you the process of making films, but it can't teach you how to tell a good story or be creative. You have to do that yourself and I like to think that you can see that in action on my channel. I don't need someone to give me something to make as homework in order to make a film, I just go out and create, and get better and better because I practice constantly. You won't become a great filmmaker because of film school, you'll become a great filmmaker because you dreamed of, worked for and went out and made great films. (I don't know if you can tell but I really believe film school is not necessary, beneficial yes. But it's how much you put into it.) Where do you live? I'm from Texas. Living in London Have another question? Just ask me in the comments or email me or message me on social media, I try to respond to everyone :) Am I awesome? Yes, yes you are. If you read all this let me know in the comments :)

With time, the interest and the enthusiasm for this new discipline rose and Ski Jumping became a sport of its own. Today Ski Jumping is one of the most popular disciplines in winter sports. Around the world fans gather to watch athletes soar through the air at competitions. At the moment this fascinating sport is practiced in about 20 countries on the World-Cup level. Ski jumping was added to the Olympic winter schedule in 1924.
